A Magical Day out at Magic Planet.

For a very long time, my family and I wanted to visit  Thiruvananthapuram. We had a big dream in our hearts. We wanted to see Magic Planet. Magic Planet is not just a regular theme park. It is a completely different world filled with wonder, and it is the only one of its kind in the whole world! Another huge reason for our visit was my deep respect and admiration for the famous magician, Gopinath Muthukad. He is the brilliant mind behind this beautiful place.

Planning a trip can sometimes be hard, but we were very lucky. My dear friend, Sajjad, came forward and promised to arrange all the facilities for us. With his generous help, everything became so easy and smooth. We packed our bags with a lot of excitement, ready to experience a day full of magic and smiles.

💡 ishabil fact

Magic Planet is located at the Kinfra Film and Video Park in Kazhakkoottam, Thiruvananthapuram. It was established by the famous magician Gopinath Muthukad to promote the art of magic and support the artist community.

Entering the World of Wonders

We arrived at Magic Planet early in the morning. The park opens its doors to visitors from 9:30 AM and the magical journey goes on until 5:00 PM. As soon as we entered, we realized something wonderful. You do not have to wander around blindly trying to find your way. There are plenty of friendly staff members all over the park. They guide you warmly from one show to the next, making sure you do not miss a single bit of the action.

The gates of the world's first magic mansion!

Right at the start, there was a fun moment. A performer tried very hard to make a serious, non-smiling man laugh. It was hilarious to watch him try so hard and fail! Just as we were enjoying this, the energy went up with a lively Welcome Dance. This beautiful dance set a happy tone for the rest of our day.

From there, the staff led us to the Intimate Dance Hall. This is a cozy, small hall that can hold about fifty people at a time. Because the hall is small, they conduct the show in different batches so that everyone gets a clear view. We sat close to the stage, waiting with bated breath for the magic to begin.

Try to reach Magic Planet by 9:15 AM. Arriving early ensures you catch the welcome dance and get sorted into the very first batch for the indoor shows, saving you waiting time later.

Mind-Boggling Tricks and the Tempest Theater

The intimate show started, and it was full of surprises. Suddenly, the magician called my young son up onto the stage! We were all watching closely. With a flick of his hands, the magician pulled a small ball right out of my son's nose! The look of pure amazement on my son's face was priceless. Honestly, even now, the wonder of that moment has not left us. We still talk about how he did it!

Next, we moved from one room to another to see different styles of magic. We saw the Mirror Magic, which played tricks on our eyes. Then came the Balloon Magic and Paper Magic, where simple everyday items turned into extraordinary things right in front of us. My family was completely hooked.

My son completely amazed by the naloon making ctricks!

After these close-up wonders, we were guided to the Tempest Theater. This was a massive highlight. They took William Shakespeare's famous play, 'The Tempest', and turned it into an artistic masterpiece. It was not just acting. It was a beautiful mix of magic, classical dance, powerful sound effects, and brilliant light design. It felt like we were transported into a different century altogether.

Thrills at the Circus Castle and Comedy Magic

Once the theater show ended, we walked over to the Circus Castle. Here, we enjoyed a whole hour of spectacular, eye-catching circus performances. Acrobats were flying and balancing in ways that seemed impossible. The most shocking part was a balancing act done by a talented artist from Ethiopia. He balanced on shaky structures with so much ease that our hearts skipped a beat! The entire crowd watched in absolute silence, followed by a huge roar of applause.

After all that heavy tension, we needed some light moments. Luckily, the next stop was the Comedy Magic show. This show lasted for about half an hour, and it was pure joy. The magician combined funny jokes with clever tricks. We laughed so much that our stomachs hurt. It was the perfect way to relax after the intense circus acts.

By the time the comedy show finished, it was already 1:30 PM. Time flies when you are having fun! We were given a short half-hour break for lunch. We went to the restaurant located right inside the Magic Planet campus. They served a grand, delicious, and traditional Kerala lunch with many side dishes. It tasted like a home-cooked feast and filled our bellies perfectly for the second half of our day.

Mind Reading and the Inspiring M-Power Show

With our energy fully restored, we went to watch the Mentalism Show. This performance blew our minds. The mentalist was able to read the thoughts of the audience members. He guessed secrets and numbers that only the viewers knew. It felt a bit spooky but was deeply fascinating!

Next came the most emotional and beautiful part of our entire trip: the M-Power Show. This is a very special magic show performed entirely by specially-abled children. These wonderful children were personally trained by Gopinath Muthukad sir himself. Seeing their focus, their talent, and their beautiful smiles on stage brought tears to many eyes. They performed difficult tricks flawlessly. The entire audience stood up and cheered for them with loud claps. It was a deeply moving experience that we will never forget.

During the mentalism show, a volunteer tried to trick the mentalist by changing their mind at the last second, but the performer still guessed the right answer! The shocked look on the volunteer's face made everyone burst out laughing.

The Grand Illusion Finale and Grand Parade

After the M-Power show, we were guided to the largest auditorium in Magic Planet. It was time for the one-hour Mega Illusion Show. This show was a tribute to the classic, grand magic shows that Gopinath Muthukad used to perform across the world. There were large boxes, disappearing acts, and levitation tricks. The lighting and the dramatic background music made it feel completely magical. We thoroughly enjoyed every single second of this grand spectacle.

As the evening approached, everyone moved outside to an area built in the shape of the famous India Gate. Here, they held a cultural show that celebrated the diversity of India. It was a colorful mix of traditional Indian dances and street magic tricks. The show reached its peak with the legendary Indian Rope Magic trick, which left everyone staring at the sky in disbelief.

To finish the day beautifully, all the artists, magicians, and characters came together for a grand parade across the park. They waved at us, played music, and danced. It was a colorful and joyful ending. At exactly 5:00 PM, all the programs came to an end. With a heart full of joy, sweet memories, and endless wonder, we said goodbye to Magic Planet and started our journey back home. If you ever visit Thiruvananthapuram with your family, you must experience this magic yourself!
